Astros and Cubs announce a trade to begin the clock Sunday 1/31:
Cubs to receive:
C - Danny Jansen - TOR - 21: $0.25M PP1, 22: $0.5M PP2, 23: $0.75M PP3, 24: $2.5M CO, 25: $5.0M CO
OF - Lane Thomas - STL: 0.2M (minors)
OF - Khalil Lee - KCR: 0.2M (minors)
SP - Seth Corry - SFG: 0.2M (minors)
Astros to receive:
C - Salvador Perez - KCR: 2021: $9M, 2022: $10M, 2023: $10M
Cubs to pay 50% of contract each year, 4.5M 2021 and 5M each 2022-2023
Monty is coming out swinging. 5 trades in 5 days. I might be overpaying here in total talent and D Jansen could feasibly outperform Perez, but this firms up a weakness on my club. I don't love Perez in an OBP league, but the power plays anywhere and the playing time is tip top.
