this trade has been protested and come to a league vote. each team gets one vote except the involved teams being the twins and white sox.

With my two top pitchers no longer under contract I traded away my most coveted OF because I have depth at the position and needed a top tier SP

I think they're looking for a more in depth look at your thoughts on the validity of the trade. I am abstaining from voting til I can read the rationale of the trade.

I guess for me I'm looking for an explanation from each side on how they reconcile valuation of the players in the trade, if that makes sense...

2 good position players for cheap? What's wrong with that?

Yeah! giving Chris Sale is right next to getting them for free...
I haven't seen a post from BigBen outside his roster post (and "accepted" on a couple trades) - where's he at? Is he really 'up to speed' enough on this complex league to make such a large decision like this?

Chris Sale still on any kind of PP deal is an insane asset. He shouldn't be given up for anything less than a haul. I default to overpricing cost-controlled aces like Sale.

so did you protest the Rockies and White Sox trade? I mean if bigben isn't up to speed to make roster decisions it only seems fair to let the league decide what he should do in both instances.

Franchising Sale will be very affordable: 2018 Team Option: $12.5M ($1M buyout) 2019 Team Option: $13.5M ($1M buyout)

If you make a comparison by the numbers you see the following Chris Sale 2016 SP1 for CWS, 3rd in K's last year, 17th in wins and era for 2015.
Travis Shaw 1B/3B 2016 bench player unless someone gets hurt, gr8 player but projected for 226 ABs in 2016 Jorge Soler 2016 RF projected for 400-500 ABs and he will be fighting Coghlan all year for ABs.
To me a little more needs to be traded to get Sale, but I am an owner not on any trade committees.
