I’m trading a young, excellent SP with 3 years of control and two other very solid players each in their last year of control and a 1st round draft pick. But I am receiving in return two top 100 prospects in Mesa and Puk, Plus O’Hearn who is experiencing a sophomore slump but is still potentially a very powerful bat, McKinney who could be a steady major league contributor with potential for 20+ HRs a year, and a potential 30-40 SB guy with an above league average bat in Tucker. While this deal may not help me much this year past O’Hearn possibly breaking out of his slump, I do believe my outlook over the next 5 years is much better after this trade than it was before.
