AL Playoff Race With two weeks left in the regular season, the AL has five teams bunched together seeking to not be the odd man out. The Yankees, Padres, White Sox, Twins and Rangers are all within a couple games of each other. We've also got Oakland 6 games back from a WC spot. He'll need two solid weeks to have a chance. All in all, the AL has six teams vying for the four playoff spots.
Remaining games: Yankees vs. Twins (.565 W%) this week and Padres (.562%) next. Padres vs. Reds (.438%) and Yankees (.562%) next White Sox vs. BoSox (.500%) and Royals (.466%) Twins vs. Yankees (.562%) and Blue Jays (.488%) Rangers vs. Dodgers (.345%) and Reds (.438%) Oakland vs. Cubs (.375%) and Mets (.558%)
Yankees have the toughest matchups and Rangers have the lightest. Which two will miss out this year?
NL Playoff Race Over on the NL side, the Astros and Rockies have their tickets already punched to the playoffs. The other two will come from three contenders in the NL East - the Mets, Braves and Phillies. The Mets have the inside track, up two games on the Braves and five games on the Phillies. With two weeks left, any one of the three could find themselves packing up for the year.
Remaining games: Mets vs Blue Jays (.488%) and vs. Oakland (.542%) Braves vs. Royals (.466%) and vs. Nationals (.385%) Phillies vs. Orioles (.349%) and vs. Cubs (.375%)
The Phillies have the easiest matchups, but will be pressed to make up 3 games on Atlanta or 5 on the Mets. Who'll be the two standing at the end of the two weeks?
